Binghamton Man Gets Prison Time For Attempted Burglary
A Binghamton man will spend up to three years in New York State Prison after pleading guilty to Attempted Burglary in the third degree.
According to the Broome County District Attorney's Office, 60-year-old Oliver Morrison was sentenced to one and a half to three years in state prison.
The office notes, Morrison admitted that on October 27, 2022, he had pried open a door at 93 State Street in the City of Binghamton, and stole money from inside. A witness had called police, and Morrison was subsequently identified through surveillance video.
Morrison has a prior Attempted Burglary conviction from 2017.
“The hard-working taxpayers of Broome County work hard for their money. Individuals like Mr. Morrison who steal property will suffer the consequences of their actions,” said Michael A. Korchak, Broome County District Attorney.
