Garage Fire Leaves Owego Home a Total Loss

Crews were called to a house fire in Owego on Tuesday morning.
Trucks from multiple departments, including Owego, Campville, Apalachin, and Tioga County converged on 50 Beardslee Lane around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Officials say the fire started in a garage and had already spread to the home upon arrival.
Owego Fire Chief James Morris stated that both the garage and the house were deemed a total loss and that there is no word on the cause of the fire yet.
A person on scene who knew the occupant of the house said the garage was a motorcycle repair shop -- a sign noting it as a registered site could be seen on the side of the garage. According to Google Maps, the location is named "Salter's Cycle Service."
Morris stated that there were a few occupants, as well as animals in the house, who were notified of the fire by neighbors. All occupants were able to get out unharmed.
