With hockey season approaching the Binghamton Black Bears announced a new initiative to help grow youth hockey locally.

All youth hockey players with the Southern Tier Hockey Association, Ice House Hawks, and Binghamton Blizzard will receive a free season ticket for the 2021-22 season. Black Bears owner Andreas Johansson says it’s important for the organization to help promote youth hockey in Binghamton.

“When we first came in here such a big part of what we talked about was the community involvement,” says Johansson. “It really means a lot for us now that the beautiful ice is in, we’ve overcome the first hurdle of any hockey team. We got youth hockey on the ice right now which means a lot for us to be able to be here and let these great organizations led by these great people flourish in this city. “

Details on how youth hockey players can redeem their free ticket to every home game will be announced shortly.

Single game tickets for the 2021-22 Black Bears season are now on sale. Binghamton will host Delaware in their home opener on Saturday November 6th at 7pm. Training camp opens up in a little over 2 weeks  for the Black Bears and their season opener is Friday October 29th in Watertown.
