Bearcats Get Their First Wins of the Season
The Binghamton University Women's basketball team got their first win of the season in a 65-60 triumph over UMBC at home. Birna Benonysdottir the Iceland native and transfer from the University of Arizona was dominant tallying 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Kaylee Wasco added 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks. The women are back at home Saturday to begin a weekend set against Hartford at 2pm.
The Bearcats men’s basketball team got into the win column today as well. They knocked off UMBC 75-69, ending the Retrievers 7 game win streak. Brenton Mills was the leading scorer with 22 points, adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bryce Beamer had a double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Binghamton will look to build off of this one as they travel to Hartford this weekend for a 2 game set with the Hawks. Tip-off Saturday is set for 2pm.
