Hollie Levine Takes Broome County Family Court Judge Seat

Democrat Hollie Levine has gained a more than 1,000 vote lead over Republican Steve Cornwell in the race for Broome County Family Court Judge. Cornwell conceded the race on Monday with about 1,000 affidavit votes left to count.
As of 12:15 p.m., Levine has 44,316 votes over Cornwell's 43,086. These are unofficial results, as they have not yet been certified by the Board of Elections.
Levine took the lead with early voting numbers, but after election night, Cornwell was up by about 6,000 votes. Over two and a half days of absentee ballot counting at the Broome County Library, that gap narrowed and, eventually, gave way to a lead for Levine.
The democrat says she is excited to serve the community in a new capacity as Family Court Judge and that it's been a whirlwind of a race.
"I'm very thankful to the voters of Broome County for trusting me to be their next Broome County Family Court Judge," says Levine, "I ran a very hard campaign in these COVID times. It definitely had its challenges."
Former District Attorney Steve Cornwell thanked his supporters for voting for him and says, while he's not sure what's next for him, "sometime the end of one road is the beginning of another road."
