"The line can be out the door plus more just continuously for two hours," said Julia Chikunguwo, server at Lickity Split.

Lickity Split has been a popular ice cream shop in Vestal for 19 years.

"I mean I've been coming here since I was a baby, so I've been coming forever," Lindsey Milligan, a customer.

When customers come they know they have a place to enjoy their sweet treats.

"It's a bigger environment, people can come in, sit inside, sit as long as they want," said Chikunguwo.

"It's very very welcoming, you don't feel rushed. It's just homey," said Milligan.

This colorful shop gets its ice cream from distributors Perry's and Hershey's.

"We have pretty much forty flavors in the peak of our season," said Cathie Kramer, owner of Lickity Split.

In addition to the two homemade flavors made in house by the owner's daughter.

"I created cookies and cake. It's like a cake batter ice cream with Oreos in it. I couldn't get it anywhere else, so I said we have to make this," said Charlotte Kramer, a server and the owner's daughter.

The Kramer's, known for their ice cream cakes, are the third owners of Lickity Split.

"Well for starters I love ice cream, and I saw it was for sale, and I thought it would be a fun atmosphere for work, and I thought, 'Let's do it,'" said Cathie Kramer.

It's clear the customers love the staff and vice versa.

"We look forward to people; I love talking to people everyday," said Charlotte Kramer.

Lickity Split is open from 1-9pm everyday from February to November. For more information: Lickity Split Facebook Page
