After a bitterly cold week, Saturday was the perfect day to be outside, especially for over 150 people running for a good cause.

Runners laced up for the eighth annual Cupid's Chase 5k at Otsiningo Park. Community Options hosted the event to raise money for people with disabilities.

Organizers said this year's turnout was the largest in the event's history partly because of the nice weather.

"We had a great turnout, it's 40 degrees instead of the negative 20 that it was supposed to be last weekend so overall, I am very excited, I am very happy with the turnout and continued community support ," said Amanda Rick, Director of Community Options.

Organizers for the Binghamton event hope their turnout will help them reach their goal of $7,000. The event is also held in 30 other cities.
