VESTAL, N.Y. - Sophomore center Dusan Perovic scored a game-high 19 points and freshman guard Everson Davis added 17 but visiting St. Francis (4-5) led the entire second half and dealt BU (2-8) a 67-61 loss Tuesday night at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center.

The Red Flash stretched a 31-30 halftime lead with a 15-6 run to open the second half. Three times BU pulled a double-digit deficit back to single digits but could draw no closer than three. Down 64-58 with 0:35 left, Perovic hit his fourth three-pointer of the game from the top of the key, making it a 64-61 game. But St. Francis converted 3-of-4 free throws over the final 31 seconds to seal the win. Aside from Perovic, the rest of the Bearcats shot just 1-of-13 from beyond the arc.

"It's a disappointing loss," head coach Tommy Dempsey said. "We expected to play better and find a win but it wasn't meant to be. We had some oppurtunities in the second half but we weren't able to take advantage of them. We struggled shooting, which allowed them to pack it in. We couldn't get the ball in and couldn't stretch the defense with the three."

Perovic hit 7-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-8 three-pointers. He added eight rebounds in 22 minutes. Davis did most of his damage from the free throw line, going 11-of-14. He also notched four assists and four boards. Sophomore forward Willie Rodriguez added 14 points and five rebounds.

The Bearcats shot just 38 percent for the game and left 11 points at the free throw line.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair with seven ties and seven lead changes. Binghamton led by as many as five points before SFU scored five of the half's last seven points to grab the lead.

Binghamton is off for a week for final exams before the Bearcats host Florida International next Tuesday night.
