IRS Scams Reported in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania State Police have recently received several complaints of IRS scams. A number of them coming out of Susquehanna County. Police tell us that these scam artists are calling area residents, claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service and asking for personal information.
Of course, this personal information can be used to take your money. If you feel you have received one of these scam phone calls, report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for tax administration at 800-366-4484.
The IRS itself says it does not ever ask for pins, passwords or any other confidential information about credit cards or financial accounts.
