Activists want the Pope's recent message to America to be reflected in the federal government's bottom line.

They protested in front of the Federal Courthouse in Binghamton this afternoon calling for a moral budget and are requesting the end of cuts in Head Start and low-income housing assistance. They want to see corporations pay higher taxes, especially on offshore profits.

"So many of his writings are about inclusivity, not excluding people. The marginalized, the poor, the disenfranchised, the vulnerable, the immigrant have been excluded by so many of our policies," said Father Tim Taugher, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi in Binghamton.

Taugher himself saw the Pope during his public mass in Philadelphia.
