Our latest Amphenol Aerospace Team of the Week is the Binghamton University women's lacrosse team who is having a record year and is now hoping they can turn a great regular season into an even better postseason.

A 5-1 America east record and a share of the conference regular-season title, the first in program history.

"I think it's all about doing it the right way with the right people," said head coach Stephanie Allen. "I think we have those people here in place right now within this program and it's a cultural mindset. And this senior class especially has been the catalyst for this culture and what you see now in terms of belief."

At the forefront of that senior group are captains Madison Murphy and goalie Sofia Salgado.

"Our game has really just exponentially improved in the conference," Salgado said. "So conference and the tournament was always something we knew, that's always going to be on our schedule and we want just completely dominate"

So yeah, a regular season title is nice, but the team wants more...and one way to do that is to play to their strengths. With 91 goals in their conference season, the Bearcats have the best offense in the America East with three players in the top 15 of the league in goals and four in the top 15 for assists.

"As an offensive player, whether you're more of an individual player or working with two-man or three-man is a lot easier because you can turn to any one of the nine players on the field and they're all a constant threat," said senior attack Madison Murphy. "Which is so hard to scout."

BU has scored 20 or more goals in three of their last four games. The one time they didn't was in an OT win against their next opponent UMBC.

"Our next focus is UMBC," Allen said. "And performing better than we did the last time that we saw them. For our team, I think mentally we're in a really good spot right now."

The Bearcats will travel to Albany for the tournament with game one being played on Friday at 4 pm. If the Bearcats win they'll play in the championship on Sunday at 10 am.
