Broome County Dog Shelter Renamed in Honor of James Dadamio

The Broome County Dog Shelter officially has a new name.
The shelter has been renamed the James D. Dadamio Broome County Dog Shelter in honor of retiring Director of Broome Security James Dadamio. Dadamio served for over 36 years as a New York State Peace Officer with Broome County Government Security Division, taking over as Director in 2006. As Director one of his responsibilities was overseeing the dog shelter. Dadamio says he feels incredibly honored looking at who some of the other county facilities are named after and being put into that group.
“I couldn’t imagine that in my wildest dreams,” says Dadamio. “The shelter has a special place in my heart, always did. To have my name attached to that going forward is something truly special.”
Dadamio says the shelter has a great staff that does phenomenal work. An owner of 3 dogs himself he says it's tough not bringing home another one every time he visits.
