Binghamton Man Receives 13 Year Sentence In NYS Prison

For over two years, prosecutors say Derrick Cervini and Heather Kasmarcik, who were listed as living together on Robinson Street in Binghamton, acted together to engage in sexual acts with three minors in Johnson City and Endicott.
Kasmarcik brought a female under the age of 15 into a bed room with Cervini with the understanding that the minor would be subjected to providing Cervini with oral sexual contact by forcible compulsion. In other incidents, the couple acted in concert to lure a boy into intercourse with them and another incident leading to a boy being seriously injured with a fan.
Today, Cervini, now 38, was sentenced to 13 years in New York State Prison for those criminal sex acts today between June of 2014 and June of 2016. According to his plea deal, he admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the female under the age of fifteen in the summer of 2016. He was arrested by New York State Police back in 2018, indicted by a grand jury in November of 2018, then pleaded guilty to the charge in October of 2019.
“A dangerous and violent sex offender has been removed from our community and will spend a lengthy term in prison,”
said District Attorney Michael A. Korchak. “The Broome County District Attorney’s Office makes special victims cases a
top priority, and will always fight for vulnerable children.”
Kasmarcik admitted to her involvement in the crimes back in February of 2019 and is currently serving 5 years in prison followed by eight years of post-release supervision.
