SungEel MCC Americas continues to try and be as transparent as possible when it comes to the facility coming to the Huron Campus in Endicott.

They held a community forum over Zoom to address concerns about the project.

SungEel has been trying to clear up misconceptions surrounding their proposed lithium ion battery recycling facility.

Many of the question's asked to Danish Mir, the President of SungEel, surrounded safety and the PFAS content of the batteries.
Mir went through the entire process of the heat treatment of the batteries.

How they heat the batteries up, Crush them, and then collect the metals from inside, and then an afterburner burns off the gases created by the process.
He states that they are not risking safety, and the goal is to bring a clean industry with exponential growth to Endicott.

Mir said "There is a lot of concern and I understand the past history of Endicott and I can understand the concern but a lot of the concerns are based on not knowing... Not knowing about the process... Not being explained the process and a lot of misinformation also... We felt it's important as part of our transparency to reach out to you guys and try to educate you on what are the faces of the project..."

Finally, Mir stressed that the process is not incineration and that they do extract materials from the process. SungEel is planning to have more community forums in the future and we will keep you updated as information for those meetings becomes available.
