SUNY Broome Students Move Public Speaking Contest Online
At the end of every semester, SUNY Broome students compete in a public speaking contest. For Spring 2020, things looked a bit different. Instead of gathering on campus, students signed in from wherever they are to participate via video conference.
About 15 students participated in the contest hosted by the SUNY Broome Toastmasters club. Most of these students have been taking public speaking courses at the college.
Each competitor was asked to give mini-speeches between one and two minutes long on a topic handed to them on the fly.
The speeches are being judged by guests from the community and members of the Binghamton University Toastmasters club. The winners will be announced on May 15th.
