Vestal firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at Tully's Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to the restaurant shortly after 9:30 a.m. Vestal Fire's Assistant Chief John Paffie says a small fire broke out behind a fryer.

Employees tried unsuccessfully to put it out with an extinguisher. Paffie says crews isolated the gas, and had the blaze out within 10 minutes.

Staff was evacuated from the restaurant before fire crews arrived. There were no injuries.
