New York State Police have arrested an Otsego County man after he had been missing for over a week.


Yishiro A. Hamata also known as Tyrell Avery Rogers is charged with making a punishable false written statement.


This after police say Hamata claimed he was the victim of a racially motivated assault and abduction.


Police say an investigation found Hamata had been staying with family and friends and he intentionally misled authorities.


Police say they found Hamata in good health at Hunt's Pond State Park in New Berlin on Saturday.


He is in the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.


He is due back in Town of Norwich Court on July 9th.
