Mom's enjoy Free Day at Ross Park Zoo
The Zoo took some time to appreciate moms Sunday.
The Binghamton Ross Park Zoo held a "Free Admission for Mom" day where any mom could enjoy the establishment at no charge.
More than 700 people came out to the event to enjoy a day with their family while checking out the zoo's animal exhibits like the monkeys and red pandas. Organizers say this event is a way of giving thanks mothers on their special day.
"We try to give back to moms every year, and as a staple in the community, we try to give back to the community. So it's just a small token to give thanks to moms every year," said Education Coordinator at the Binghamton Zoo Melissa Grippin, "My mom always encouraged my passion for animals so we'd go anywhere and everywhere there were animals whether that be the farm or a zoo."
"It's a good way of saying thank you and to spend time with your children. That's what it is really all about, spending time with your kids and appreciating them," said Montrose, PA resident Holly Edui.
And dads you'll be appreciated too!
The zoo will hold a free Father's Day admission in June.
