VESTAL, N.Y.—The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (6-10, 1-5 America East) lost today to the Albany Great Danes (12-2, 4-1 America East) by a score of 17-5.

"I thought we came out today and competed for a full sixty minutes," remarked Head Coach Stephanie Allen. "I thought we just lacked a value of the ball in that first half, and that gave us a bigger gap to overcome than we were hoping for."

Albany opened the game with three straight goals, but the Bearcats responded by scoring two of the next three. Brianne Arthur got BU on the board with 21:44 remaining in the first half. After a Great Dane goal, Callon Williams made it a 4-2 game by scoring her 22nd goal of the season.

Albany would then go on an 11-0 run to stretch their lead to 13 goals.

The Bearcats ended the game by scoring three of the last five goals. Valerie DeNapoli scored her tenth of the season with 14:55 left. Four minutes later, Brianne Arthur scored her second goal of the game, giving her 22 for the season. Renee Kiviat closed the game out by scoring with 40 seconds left, her 24th in 2015.

It was Senior Day for Binghamton, as they honored their four seniors: Rachel Antelmi, Alex Fisher, Renee Kiviat, and Brianna Russo.

"I'm incredibly proud to have coached these seniors," stated Coach Allen. "They've had such an impact on this program and the progress that we've made over the last couple of years. I hope that they stay fans of the program for life, and we can say that they will always be Bearcats. We wish them all the best, and we wish we could have had Alex Fisher out there on the field to compete in her final America East game."

Allie Rodgers registered three groundballs and three caused turnovers for BU. Erin McNulty played all 60 minutes in net, making 11 saves.

The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday, April 22 for their final game of the season against Canisius.

"We've talked about moving our program forward and carrying our momentum into the offseason," reflected Allen. "Not many teams can say they finished their season on a win, and that's something we were able to accomplish last year. We want to do the same this year and really send our seniors out on a high note."

The game is set for a 4 p.m. start and will take place at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
