5/14/2014 (Updated 10:59:32 PM)Fighting crime effectively, is often an issue in political campaigns-- especially when they involve candidates for sheriff--
And Wednesday night was no different, when Broome County Democrats presented their candidate for Broome County Sheriff--
He is Chris Bracco , 42 years old, of Endicott, is a Binghamton Police captain-- who's making a bid to unseat 72 year old Broome County Sheriff David Harder--a Republican.
Bracco made a point of being where it all happens:
"I'm out there, I see first hand how the crime, the drugs, and the transiency has negatively exploited our area. and there's a new wave of crime that's here and we can not approach crime the way we did 10 or 15 years ago," said Democratic candidate for Broome County Sheriff, Chris Bracco.
Bracco says he has the vision, energy, and passion to lead Broome County towards a safer future.
Harder, who's been Sheriff since the late 90's, is running for a fifth term.
