Woman Flips Truck Nine Times, Walks Away Uninjured

A woman says that God must have been on her side after she flipped her truck nine times before striking a utility pole and was able to walk away uninjured.

The accident happened Wednesday at Day Hollow road in Endicott shortly after noon.

The driver said she was reaching for her cigarettes when she lost control of the Ford four door F150.

After colliding into the utility pole area residents came to the rescue.

"The wires were actually making lots of noise and the telephone pole was tipped right over into the road pretty much. And I was on the phone with 911 trying to be careful of the wires. Just basically another gentleman in the road came down and we propped open the window and we were able to slide her out," said John Columbia who lives on Day Hollow Road.

The road was shut down for part of the afternoon as NYSEG and police officials took care of the scene.
