Chris Whalen
Chris is home grown born and raised here in Binghamton. At an early age Chris announced Little League games at MacArthur Park in Binghamton and became interested in broadcast journalism. He graduated from Binghamton High in 2004, and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University in May 2008, before joining FOX 40 News in 2009. Chris has covered the Onondaga County Executive race in 2007 which saw Joanie Mahoney become the first female Executive in county history. He also covered the Binghamton ACA shootings in 2009 and has interviewed Hank Aaron at Baseball Hall of Fame. Chris loves meeting people while reporting and hearing their stories. “It gives me a feel for what the people of this area are really like.” Chris volunteers coaching baseball for Binghamton High School as well as coaching Tee Ball during the summer for kids in the community. As an involved citizen, Chris feels economic development of the Greater Binghamton is crucial to the future of this area. Chris loves baseball and is a die hard Yankee fan. In his free time he enjoys reading James Patterson, and watching Giants football as well as Syracuse basketball.
